Our Mission:
The mission of the Language Assistance Services office is to provide timely, professional interpreter services to all patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).
All Medical Center employees and healthcare practitioners providing services at the Medical Center shall be responsible to recognize the language assistance needs of patients and to obtain language assistance for all patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).
The Medical Center shall provide free of charge 24-hour access to interpretive services (in person, telephonic or electronic) in a manner consistent with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964*.
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964:
No person in the United State shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
