The Financial Aid Office is on Facebook!

We've created a page on Facebook for the UVA School of Medicine Financial Aid Office.  While email remains our official mode of communication for required and important information, you can become a fan to get occasional updates and reminders about deadlines.  We'll also post reminders about upcoming events, like the "Money Talks" seminars, and links to useful resources.

We have created a page with instructions and screenshots to help students better understand the new Student Information System and their tuition bills.   

The University no longer mails paper bills.  Students have all received an email from Student Accounts with instructions to log in to SIS and view your tuition bill through QuikPay@UVA. 

Income-Based Repayment Information

The exit interview presentation contained information about the new Income-Based Repayment option available starting July 1, 2009.  Additional information was emailed to the 2009 graduates.  In addition, the AMA has created a handout about the program.

*All Federal Stafford and Federal Direct Loans disbursed AFTER July 1, 2006 will have a fixed rate of 6.8%.    

 

*Interest rates on Stafford/Direct Student Loans disbursed prior to July 1, 2006 and not included in a Federal Loan Consolidation remain variable, capped at 8.25% and will continue to change every July 1 throughout the life of the loan.

Effective for the period July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010, variable interest rates for Federal Stafford and Federal Direct Loans disbursed prior to July 1, 2006 and not included in Federal Loan Consolidation are as follows:

  • 1.88 During school, grace, and deferment

  • 2.48 During active repayment or forbearance
