MTPCI Animated GifThe Multidisciplinary Training Program in Clinical Investigation or MTPCI was created to foster, recruit, train and prepare outstanding MDs and PhDs for independent careers in human subject–oriented research. The MTPCI provides course work opportunities in departments across the University, and mentoring complementary to that provided by the trainee's primary research mentor in their home department. Each MTPCI trainee has a three member mentoring committee that meets formally with the trainee twice a year and is available as needed for discussion and advice as the trainee advances through the program.  Graduates receive a "Certificate of Clinical Investigation" upon successful completion of the program requirements.
